Harlequin Sprung Flooring: An Investment in Safety
Miss Kim’s is serious about our dancer’s and instructor’s safety and longevity. Our flooring is on a level equal to that of Boston Ballet Theater, Houston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and so many more around the world. See the video below from Philadelphia Ballet.
We install Industry leader, Harlequin brand sprung dance flooring and Harlequin Marley vinyl in all our dance rooms. Select dance rooms also feature Harlequin Maple Barres. Harlequin’s sprung flooring is designed for dance and uses high quality cabinet grade birch plywood with very deep tongue and groove slots along with scientifically designed dual layer foam “spring” pads to create an average 67% shock absorption rating.
Dancing demands a great deal of flexibility, strength, and stamina and is very demanding on the body. We have made a very serious investment in the highest quality dance floors available to help prevent injuries and insure longevity. Few dance studios make this level of investment, some even use regular plywood subflooring suspended with slices of pool noodles.
