Averie Bernstein

  • Ballet

Averie Bernstein is a junior at Elon University. Averie is majoring in Dance Science and minoring in Human Service Studies and Psychology, and plans to attend graduate school for occupational therapy. She has a long-term career goal to own and operate a fitness/dance center that is specifically designed for children with special needs. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia where she trained in various styles of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, contemporary, and hip-hop. Averie continued to dance with a pre-professional ballet company as well as attending the Joffrey Ballet School summer intensive for three years. Through these experiences, she was able to perform in the Nutcracker for 9 years as well as other ballet productions such as Coppélia, Paquita, and Alice in Wonderland. For the last two years of high school, Averie attended a studio that focused more on the performance side of dance which allowed her to rekindle her love for jazz and choreography. Averie wants to show dancers how dance can be a way of moving your body while also fostering creativity. She is excited to be a part of Miss Kim’s studio and share her love of dance with children!
