Break Dancing at Wee Care?

Today was a fun day at Wee Care. My little girl's class had everyone there today. They are just so sweet and love to sing and dance. We got on Dora's bus, sang If You're Happy and you Know it, got in the Barney Car, and then Bopped Until We Dropped. Miss Puffy flew in and we sat down and stretched our legs. We reviewed our ballet steps and one little girl remembered what they were called... look for her name in mover of the week. The girls always love it when I get the tree and they jump over it and crawl under it. We ended our day with the parachute and popping bubbles. Great job today my little ballerinas!

My boy's class was unforgettable today. I walked outside to get them since they were playing. I sort of felt bad taking them off the playground but that quickly changed when they all ran over to me and held my hand... that told me all I needed to know. We snuck and got some water before we started. We Bopped Until We Dropped and then Daddy Duck called. When we play this game they have to listen to specific instructions and they do a fine job. We reviewed how to do a burpee, push up, and jumping jacks. When I put the music on we did those things but then I saw one little fella that truly was trying to break dance. Well, I stopped the music and asked him did he want me to show him some moves. (OK parents, I realize this is showing my age... I loved break dancing in the 80's!) I showed him the worm, robots, the wave, and some other fun stuff. HE loved it! The other boys joined right in and tried it to. I put on Choo Choo Soul from Disney and those boys went to town. You can see them in the pictures; they worked so hard they were sweating! We had a ball... and I am hurting now from trying to do the worm!!!

My older girls rushed me on the playground and we went inside. We got some water too! We practiced everything we are going to do for our parent showcase. We started with the Hokey Pokey, went over all our tap steps. We worked on Shake Your Groove Thing by the Chipmunks. Miss Puffy flew in and we got to sit down and stretch our legs. We practiced our very special Mother presentation in ballet. Daddy duck called us too so we had to go fishing again. We jumped (jete') over the tree and then got the parachute. Parents are going to be amazed at these young ladies next week... might want to bring your tissue too!
