First Day at Wee Care!

First Day at Wee Care! Click Photo for Photo Gallery.

It was a great first day at Wee Care today. I would like to very special thank you to Rolanda and Ann for giving me this opportunity to bring creative movement and dance to your children. I felt so welcome by all the staff. Your facility is top notch!

My day started out with gathering all of my two and three year old friends. They were so excited. We walked to our special room to start our class. We found paint brushes in our back pockets and painted a rainbow of many colors. We then packed a picnic....seems like 90% of the kids favorite meal was chicken nuggets! We put our Dora and Diego blanket inside and marched to the park. We started to eat when all of a sudden we saw ants! We chased them away with our toes. When they were all gone we ate our lunch. Next we got in the Barney Car. Red light means stop and green light means go! Then we learned "Bop until You Drop" which was so much fun. Then I put them in the frying pan and cooked popcorn (this teaches them how to skip). I told them they would have to wash their hair when they got home since I put ooey gooey oil in their hair. Miss Puffy flew in the room and we let her play with us. She helps us stretch our muscles. We learned how to do a Miss Kim burpy....Cheeseburger French Fry! Then a tree fell down and we had to jump over it and crawl under it! Our last activity we did was the parachute which the children loved. They got to pop bubbles on top. This group had great attention spans and tried every movement I showed them. What made me really proud was when we were walking back to class the children wanted to show Miss Ann what they had learned. So we stopped right there in the hall and showed her our moves. Great job!

My next class was my older girl's tap and ballet class. The girls were waiting for me at their doors since they heard me taking the smaller children back to their classes. We started our day off with Dora singing and dancing to "If You're Happy and you Know It". At that point I knew I had some real dancers in this class. I turned the music on and they went to town. Today we learned toe taps (picnic with ants), heel outs (digging holes in our garden), and burpies (cheese burger french fry). We also started our dance called "Shake Your Groove Thing" by the Chipmunks. We then cooked some popcorn in the frying pan. Miss Puffy flew in our room and we stretch our muscles. We read some stories by opening up our books......CLOSE THEM if there is something scary. So we decided to open up Winnie The Pooh. We learned first position and then plie'. We also learned how to jete' by jumping over a tree! Do not be surprised if your daughter asks you to lie down on the floor....she wants to show you jete'. I am really proud of the girls; they are going to be great. What made me so happy is when several of the girls asked me if I could come back tomorrow and play. I told them that I would be back next Thursday.
