Sunny Inside at Friends Playhouse!

Sunny Inside at Friends Playhouse! Click Photo for Photo Gallery.

It may be cloudy outside but it was a bright sunny day inside at Friends Playhouse. I apologize for not posting a blog about last week....it was Spring Break and I had all of my children home so I did not get it done. I am back on track now that they are back at school. I gallery will have pictures from last week so you can see some of what they did.

Today the children greeted me with big hugs and smiles as I walked into their classroom. I combined the 2&3's with the 4&5's since we had low attendance due to sickness. This worked so well because the little ones had examples to follow. I will go back next week with the classes separated but it was a fun day with both of them together. This meant that the 2 & 3's got to do a little tap and ballet as well. We started the day out with "If you're Happy and You Know It" then we went on a picnic. We chased ants away with our toes. (toe tap). I then gave everyone some flower seeds but nobody brought a shovel today. So, we had to figure out a way to dig holes for our seeds. We used our heels one at a time (heel step) and then put the seeds in the ground. We watered our flowers and then sang "Mister Sun". After all that planting we got on the bus. We then got hungry and got in Miss Kim's frying pan. I put ooey gooey oil in the hair and cooked them up. They turned into popcorn and started popping their knees. (first step in skipping) I had popcorn popping all over the place! Daddy duck called today and wanted some fish. We had to swimming in the water to get him some fish and if Mommy duck touched baby duck on the head they had to swim home. All my baby ducks listened so well....thanks to my two big sister ducks......who learned arabesque when we sang looked "far away". Miss Puffy flew in and we put her on our shoulder. She helps us stretch our muscles, learn our right from our left, and helps with a lot of our gross motor skills. Miss Kim tried hard to make everyone tired with "Bob until You Drop". We ended our day with burpies.....cheeseburger French fry! The children are getting to know me now so they are really getting into all the movements. I love seeing them anticipate what is coming next. Once they remember they will show me over and over.....they want me to see that they can do it. I am so proud of them. See you next Monday!
